About

Come and celebrate the 225th anniversary of the Brecon Canal as we Light Up The Canal with a stunning lantern procession and illuminated display across five canalside communities between Abergavenny and Brecon.

There'll be lanterns, illuminated displays on the canal and torches to help light the way. Everyone is warmly invited to walk the towpath, enjoy the spectacle and celebrate the rich history that unites these communities along the Brecon Canal (which became the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal).

Starting at Gilwern on December 8th, each night will have a stunning community procession along the canal, commencing at 6.30pm and lasting for approximately an hour. The Gilwern event will assemble on the towpath behind the Towpath Inn at 6pm.
