Inspiration
Usk is a pretty village in Monmouthshire, Wales known as the town of flowers with lots of lovely walks along its river.
The site of the 50-acre (20.3ha) Roman legionary fortress of Isca, the permanent base of the Second Augustan Legion in Britain from about A.D. 75. Impressive remains of the fortress baths, amphitheatre, barracks, and fortress wall.- 1st Apr 202531st Mar 2026
- The historic town of Crickhowell lies on the River Usk on the southern edge of the Black Mountains in the Eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
- Founded as a Benedictine priory, it then became the parish church of Brecon in 1537, a role it held until in 1923 it became the Cathedral for the newly created Diocese of Swansea & Brecon.
