(Family fun at Raglan Castle - @the.tuckers.tent)

On St. David's Day 2026 (Sunday 1st March) Cadw's usually paid for sites will open their doors for free! That's free entry to Chepstow Castle, the oldest stone castle in the UK, Raglan Castle, a symbol of medieval strength and splendour, and the iconic jewel of the Wye Valley, Tintern Abbey.

All three sites are within diriving distance of each other (around 20 minutes between each) so you could even visit all three in one day! The sites will be open 09:30am - 5:00pm.
