Details

Marion Stainton, Horticultural consultant and writer, will describe the historical introduction of many very familiar plants, and tell us more about those who collected them and the influence they have had on garden styles. She will also look at why many plants from the Himalayas have been so popular and why it was a very popular place for plant hunters to go, despite the difficulties they encountered.

The Monmouthshire group of the Hardy Plant Society (HPS) meets in Usk as it is centrally located. Usk Centenary Hall (NP15 1AD) is at the rear of the Memorial Hall car park, opposite the prison, with free parking.

For more information, see the HPS website at www.hardy-plant.org.uk/monmouth or send an email to monmouthshirehps@gmail.com
