• Chepstow Castle - 17 areas with little to no steps, portable hearing loops available, defibrillator on site, 12 benches for a little break or catch your breath, no loud areas or flashing lights, free accessible public toilets, blue badge parking and baby changing facilities in Castle Dell car park and a ground floor plan on the Cadw website here.
• White Castle (near Abergavenny) - benches for a little break or catch your breath and level access in the central area.
• Caldicot Castle - 3 parking bays for blue badge holders, benches for a little break or catch your breath, virtual tour available,a bathroom with grab rails, level access in the café and visitor centre.
• Raglan Castle - portable hearing loops available, defibrillator on site, benches for a little break or to catch your breath, an accessible toilet near the visitor centre, no loud areas or flashing lights, a water refill station and a ground floor plan on the Cadw website here.
• Goytre Wharf  - 2 'Step by Step' walks with breaks at points of interest, along a surfaced towpath. You can explore the Canal & River Trust's accessibility map for information about access points to the canal.
• Chepstow Museum  - ramp at entrance, level access on the ground floor and accessible toilet, free accessible public toilets, blue badge parking and baby changing facilities in Castle Dell car park.
• Abergavenny Museum - virtual tour available, public toilets and Shopmobility nearby in Castle Street car park.
• Tintern Abbey - 5 disabled parking bays, portable hearing loops available, defibrillator on site, benches for a little break or to catch your breath, accessible toilets and baby changing near the visitor centre, no loud areas or flashing lights, a water refill station and a ground floor plan on the Cadw website here.
• Old Station Tintern - virtual tour available, free parking for disabled badge holders and a wheelchair accesible carriage is available during the week (and by request on weekends), check their listing for train ride times and costs.

Enjoy the great outdoors with these easy terrain walks....

• Wonders of Whitestone - a largely level 1.2m/2km circular route with 3 benches for breaks and only 1 stile and 2 gates. There are 2 free car parks on this site.
• Duchess Ride Viewpoint Trail - a largely level 3.1m/5km route with a bench at the viewpoint.
• Trellech Beacon - a 3m circular route with no stiles and only 6 gates.
• Alder Tree Boardwalk at Coed y Cerrig National Nature Reserve - a 0.4m/0.6km rote on a wide and level boardwalk. This can be made onto a circular route however, the return section is not paved. There is a free, small car park (3 cars max) nearby.
• Goytre Wharf to Pentre Bridge - a level 2m/3.3km point to point route along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. This is one of the Canal & River Trust's 'Step by Step' walks, and a video of the route can be found here. There is a car park on site.
• Hiiker website - 10 wheelchair friendly hikes with a range of difficulties.

Visiting for an event? 

Information below is a brief outline of what accessible services, facilities or amenities are available. Please visit each event's website and/or contact their team for further information.

• Usk Show - annually held in mid-September, it is one of the biggest (one day) agricultural shows in the UK. The Show offers a dedicated disabled car park, m obility scooters and wheelchairs hire from Advanced Mobility and an accessible changing places toilet near the main entrance. Those attending with a companion can get a FREE 'Carer's Ticket' when booked alongside a full Adult Ticket.
• Mabon (Street Food Circus) at Caldicot Castle - an accessible car park is on site and essential companion tickets are available on request. Please note that due to the nature of the site, talks hosted in the banquet hall inaccessible to wheelchair users.
• Abergavenny Food Festival - the annual, and infamous Food Festival is held in late September, offering a variety of market and street frood traders, demos and talks. All main market venues are accessible to wheelchair and mobility scooters users. Disabled toilets can be found at both Abergavenny bus station and the Brewery Yards. Upper & Lower Brewery Yard are separated by steps, so step-free access between the two is via Market Street. Abergavenny Shopmobility is also open on both Saturday & Sunday (during the festival) from 9:30am to 4pm. 
• Monmouthshire Show - annually held in mid-August, the Show offers a number of livestock classes, main ring entertainment, trade and food stands and live demonstrations. For those attending with a carer, and would be unable to do so without, carer/attendant entry is free. Electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs are available for hire from Event Mobility.
