About

Come and visit the Old Station Tintern. The car park & grounds are open daily 9am - 5pm throughout the year. The tea room & toilets are now closed until April 1st 2023.

We look forward to seeing you.

The Old Station nestles beside the River Wye in the heart of the Wye Valley in Tintern. This idyllic 10 – acre site boasts the best of what Monmouthshire has to offer.

The Old Station has developed an excellent reputation as one of the area’s top visitor centres, with our recently refurbished railway carriages offering a host of local information & history, as well as an N-gauge model railway.

The site has held the coveted Green Flag award since 2009, making it a wonderful hub for walkers and the perfect stop for tea and cake after a lovely walk.

Visitors can sit, relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery, wander along a relaxing one mile riverside circular walk, before visiting the Circle of Legends.

For the younger visitor, when you visit Old Station Tintern please say hello to Ostin.  Ostin is the Old Station Tintern Dormouse and he's full of fun! Down at Old Station Tintern you can find Ostin between the pages of our brand new Explore and Create family activity pack.  It's full of ideas for exploring the site.  There's also a minaiture railway ( currently not operating at present) a play area and a 30 metre aerial zip slide.
