Open Doors in Monmouthshire 2019

Discover new locations and rarely seen history throughout Monmouthshire with Cadw's 'Open Doors' event in September. Across the month a host of beautiful Medieval Churches will be letting visitors in to explore. There'll also be a chance to discover the exciting history of castles on the Welsh Marches with the Three Castles History Tour of Skenfrith, Grosmont and White Castle; as well as free guided tours of Chepstow Castle on the 14th / 15th September.

There's also a range of fun activities and events at the Medieval farmhouse of Llwyn Celyn, as well as a chance to explore the hidden treasures of the Kymin in Monmouth.

The redundant church of St David is in the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches. The church is largely from the fifteenth century: most of the windows and the screen and rood loft date from this century.

This redundant church, in the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches, is a medieval building, with a north aisle of 1904. There are two (rather battered) medieval effigies inside said to be of the Martels.
