Raglan Castle

This Sunday 14th September 2025 children can enjoy free entry to all of Monmouthshire's Cadw sites to celebrate Owain Glyndŵr Day. So that's free entry for children to Chepstow Castle (easily accessed just across the Severn Bridge), Raglan Castle in the heart of Monmouthshire, and Tintern Abbey in the beautiful Wye Valley.

Chepstow Castle re-enactment

It's great timing for Chepstow Castle as all weekend the historical re-enactment group Bowlore take over Chepstow Castle. There'll be displays and demonstrations all weekend, plus have-a-go archery and knight school (additional charge to take part in the activities).

There's also free entry for children to Caerleon Roman Fortress Baths in Newport, Blaenavon Ironworks in Torfaen and Tretower Court in Powys, all neighbouring Cadw sites which are easy to reach from Monmouthshire.
