About

Margaret's Wood is a beautifully mature 2 hectare woodland in the Whitebrook Valley, one of the tributaries of the River Wye. Sprawling oaks and towering beech trees greet you alongside an abundance of plants and birds.

Situated within the Wye Valley National Landscape, these woodlands were once full of arable land and orchards (with the remains of an 18th century cottage still to be found). Nowadays there's daffodils in the spring, great spotted woodpeckers on the trees and a beautiful carpet of leaves in the autumn.

The wood is easily accessed from the Wye Valley Walk, which is only 1km west of the reserve.
