AR LOG CELEBRATE THEIR 50th ANNIVERSARY

2026 is a very special year for Ar Log. It's highly unlikely that anyone would have imagined that the group would be celebrating its 50th anniversary when the band was formed back in 1976 at the Celtic Festival in Lorient, Brittany. But, following that first concert, on the advice of The Dubliners, the band has by now, performed throughout Europe, and North and South America promoting Welsh traditional music and songs.

In order to celebrate this milestone Ar Log is organising a tour of Wales and Germany, and releasing a new album, Ar Log VIII, early in the New Year. A number of special guests will appear on the tour with Ar Log, and during the two performances at Galeri and Pontio Dafydd Iwan will perform with Ar Log for the very last time. This was the partnership that was responsible for the recording that has by now become Wales' second anthem, 'Yma o Hyd'!
