About
St. Teilo's Church was originally built in the 12th century on the site of a 6th century centre of worship at the northern end of Abergavenny.
Notable sights include the three chantry chapels, medieval stone altar slabs, six chuch tower bells (including the largest from pre-reformation times), several fine 18th century monuments, the 'Walk Through the Bible' wildflower walk, the 2023 Chapel of Remembrance and the Commonwealth War Graves from the first and second World Wars.
Make sure to tour the wildflower churchyard, which has helped St. Teilo's receive a Bronze Eco Church Award.
