Parkruns are a fun, friendly, feel‑good way to kick off your weekend. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a relaxed walker, or just fancy cheering others on, everyone’s welcome.
So what exactly is parkrun?
Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. It takes place at locations across the UK every Saturday morning, with a junior parkrun 2k, dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families every Sunday morning. The atmosphere is positive, welcoming and inclusive; there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along.
There are currently 1,395 parkrun events around the UK, with more locations being added all of the time. Some keen parkrunners will activity seek out new locations to tick off! With the variety of parkruns available it can be appealing to those looking to explore different areas and experiences whilst improving their fitness.
