Discover castles, countryside, vineyards, manor houses, restaurants and more as you follow the Welsh border along the River Monnow from Monmouth. This walk runs parallel to Offa's Dyke in many places, offering a low level alternative.
The walk starts in the county town of Monmouth and along your way you'll pass the unique Monnow Gate & Bridge, the border castles of Skenfrith and Grosmont, award-winning dining at The Bell at Skenfrith and award-winning wine at Ancre Hill Vineyard.
Please note this route is no longer actively supported and maintained in full. As such those wishing to complete the walk do so at their own risk / discretion. The only sections actively maintained are those which follow existing Pathcare routes, eg. White Swan Skenfrith and Skenfrith to Box Farm.
