About

A 6.5 mile walk in the Monnow Valley south of Skenfrith.

This undulating walk starts at the picturesque village of Skenfrith, a charming village with its historic mill, church and castle on the banks of the River Monnow. The route climbs steeply onto the ridge for fantastic views over the village and the Monnow Valley, then continues through fields following the river towards Monmouth before turning up to the hamlet of St. Maughan’s and its lovely church. The walk passes through several commercial orchards before dropping back into Skenfrith.

This route is one of the Monnow Valley Circular walks, and is indicated with waymarks showing a swan.
