Hive Mind

Monmouthshire's producers won big again at the 2023 Great Taste Awards, with five businesses achieving a total of 19 stars, including the highest award of three stars for Hive Mind's Traditional Mead, and Black Welsh Lamb's Pedigree, organic, pasture-fed hogget leg.

The Great Taste Awards are a prestigious annual food award, where products are judged by a panel of over 500 experts made up of chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers, so winning even one star is a fantastic achievement.

Black Welsh Lamb comes from our closed flock of pedigree Black Welsh Mountain sheep developed over a fifteen year period. All our sheep are Soil Association organic accredited and Pasture Fed Livestock Association registered, as the lambs are fed only grass and hay from the farm.

Apple County Cider is based near Skenfrith in Monmouthshire. The farm grows cider apples & blackcurrants in fields overlooking Monnow Valley's stunning landscape. There’s a cider shop open 7 days a week for cider tasting and local produce.
