Upper Bettws

About

The Upper Bettws Cottages are away high in the Black Mountains of the Brecon Beacons National Park with exceptional, panoramic views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the beautiful Bettws Valley, yet only 10 minutes from Abergavenny with its fantastic pubs and restaurants.

Each cottage has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and full range of cooking utensils in the kitchen. The lounge/dining areas each have a dining table and chairs with easy chairs and TV and DVD. Rear patio with garden furniture which leads onto an enclosed garden with exceptional views.

Tucked away half a mile up a small country lane, Cuddfan is one of two attractive properties converted from farm buildings and sat high up on the side of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. Their position on this small hill farm is utterly beautiful with stunning views of the Black Mountains, the beautiful Bettws Valley and the Sugar Loaf. This is a great spot for bird watching, walking and pony trekking. The nearby town of Abergavenny is just 10 minutes away and the area is littered with fantastic restaurants. Cuddfan Cottage provides a homely and comfortable base - ideal for a couples holiday, or a family. Well behaved dogs are most welcome and the farmyard buildings offer 3 stables within sight of the cottages as well as grazing, should you wish to bring your horse.

Homely self-catering accommodation

Cuddfan has a kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge and a full range of cooking utensils. The charming living/dining room has easy chairs, a TV and a electric wood-effect stove. There is access to a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities in the adjoining laundry room.

Wonderful walking

Bring your wellies or walking boots, a map, and the dog and head out on to the stunning Sugar Loaf Mountain. There are numerous circular walks from the cottages and you can choose the level of difficulty. The summit of the Sugar Loaf is well worth the effort with views on a clear day extending to the Black Mountains in the North, the Cotswolds to the East, the Brecon Beacons to the West, and the Bristol Channel to the South. The cottages are also an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the Black Mountains, or hop in the car for 20 minutes and take on the iconic Brecon Beacons. Those with horses can enjoy miles of uninterrupted rides straight from the farm - what a wonderful way to explore the area.
