Monmouthshire Food Festival

Monmouthshire Food Festival

Monmouthshire Food Festival comes from the glorious surroundings of Caldicot Castle at a time of autumn plenty and features a packed programme of chef’s demonstrations, tutored tastings, talks and lots of artisan foods to try and buy.

Monmouthshire Food Festival is delighted to announce two of our finest local chefs who will be demonstrating in the Chef’s Theatre. Clive Williams and Liam Whittle grew up together locally and both went on to become award winning chefs. Clive is now Head Chef of the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran and holder of 2AA Rosettes and Liam is a top class development chef. Also in the Chef’s Theatre will be Jules James from Black Mountain Gold Chocolate. Chef and Master Chocolatier Jules will be demonstrating chocolate desserts, one not to be missed by chocolate lovers.

The Look and Learn Theatre offers a host of demonstrations and tutored tastings. Everyone’s favourite baker Bill King will show how everyone can make their own bread. Buster Grant from Brecon Brewing and Paul Williamson from Hillside Brewery will go head to head with their beers from either side of the Wye Valley. In his first visit to the Look and Learn Theatre, Christos Kyriakidis of The Pod Cocktail Bar and Restaurant, opening soon in Newport, will give a master class on cocktails.

Monmouthshire Youth Service hosts the Children’s Quarter with a packed programme for our younger visitors who are welcome to bring along their not so young visitors to share in the fun.
Courtesy of Guide Dogs Cymru, some of the cleverest canines around will be attending the Monmouthshire Food Festival. The charity is offering visitors a chance to get up close to a guide dog or puppy and find out more about their vital work.

The Producers Market has a wide range of artisan foods for our foodie visitors to try and buy. Our artisan food producers will have everything from locally made preserves made with fruit foraged from the hedgerows to handmade sausage rolls made just six miles from Caldicot Castle. Talk to the people who know the products best, the people who make them!
