Abergavenny Food Festival 2026

If you love good food, the Abergavenny Food Festival deserves a spot in your diary. Taking over the town on the 19th and 20th September 2026, this much-loved event brings together some of the best food and drink producers from Wales and beyond, alongside chef demonstrations, workshops, live music and plenty of opportunities to discover something new.

With more than 120 stallholders, 80 chef demonstrations and talks, and 16 live music acts taking place across Abergavenny, there's more than enough to fill a weekend. We'd recommend making a long weekend of it and exploring everything the town and wider Monmouthshire area have to offer.

Weekend Wristband: £26, Day Wristband: £17, Under 16s go free

Ticketed events are available from £15, with guided walks from £20. Festival ticket holders receive a 20% discount on ticketed events.

• Kids Cookery School

Abergavenny Castle
9:30am to 4:30pm | Saturday & Sunday.  Included with your day pass

Little foodies can learn to make traditional Welsh cakes in these fun, hands-on cookery sessions for children aged 2 to 11.

• Gastronomy by Jon

Upper Brewery Yard
10:00am to 10:45am | Saturday.  Included with your day pass

Chef and content creator Jon Cholakian brings his distinctive style of cooking to the Chef's Kitchen stage. Expect practical tips, creative recipes and plenty of inspiration for confident home cooking.

• Nomadic Museum of Natural History

Abergavenny Castle, Through the Archway
10:00am to 5:00pm | Saturday.  Included with your day pass

Part cabinet of curiosities and part street theatre, this unique museum features everything from fossils and feathers to skulls, shells and even live exhibits. Many of the exhibits can be handled, making it a fascinating experience for visitors of all ages.

Meet some of the local producers and food businesses that help make Monmouthshire such a fantastic food destination. Hear their stories, learn about their products and discover the passion behind what they do.

• From River to Mountain: A Walk Through the Usk Valley

Meet at Linda Vista Gardens
11:30am to 2:30pm | Saturday £20

Escape the festival crowds and discover the beautiful countryside surrounding Abergavenny. This guided walk follows the River Usk through the Monmouthshire landscape, taking in local history, wildlife and landmarks including St Peter's Church and Sugar Loaf Vineyard.

• Tasting: Modern Mead with Hive Mind

The Garden Kitchen by Pugh's
12:30pm to 1:30pm | Saturday  £15

Discover the world of mead with Matt Newell from award-winning Monmouthshire meadery Hive Mind. Sample a range of exceptional meads while learning about the history, production and revival of the world's oldest alcoholic drink.

• Guided Walk: Abergavenny's Historic Inns, Taverns & Markets

Starts at Linda Vista Gardens
12:30pm to 2:00pm | Saturday  £15

Join local historian Frank Olding for a fascinating walk through Abergavenny's historic streets. Discover the inns, taverns, markets and colourful characters that have shaped the town's rich food and drink heritage over the centuries.

• Beaufort Male Voice Choir

Lower Brewery Yard
1:15pm to 2:00pm | Sunday.  Included with your day pass

There's nothing quite like the sound of a Welsh male voice choir. With a proud history stretching back more than 150 years, Beaufort Male Voice Choir promises a stirring performance.

• Sam Evans & Shauna Guinn: The Final Feast

Abergavenny Castle
3:00pm to 3:45pm | Sunday.  Included with your day pass

Bring the festival weekend to a close with Sam Evans and Shauna Guinn's Final Feast. Expect great food, plenty of fire, favourite recipes and a few surprises as they deliver a fitting finale to the celebrations.
