Wye Valley Walk

Take on the Wye Valley Walk in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the Welsh coast at Chepstow, passing the serene beauty of Tintern and the county town of Monmouth. The Monmouthshire section of this walk covers around 17 miles (25-27km) and is made up almost entirely of paths through woodland.

Along your way you'll pass the first stone built castle in Wales at Chepstow, the majestic ruins of Tintern Abbey, the Georgian Monmouth Shire Hall, a Michelin stared restaurant and fantastic views over the valley.

Wyndcliff Wood is a superb example of a lower Wye Valley gorge woodland with ancient hanging beech and yew as well as lime, ash and hazel coppice.
