About
St. Mary's Priory Church, Monmouth grew from a religious community of Benedictine monks which established a priory on the site in 1101. Since then various refurbishments, expansions and renovations have established a beautiful church which is the parish and civic church for the town and community of Monmouth.
Parts of the original Norman church still remain within the 14th century tower, although most of the church dates from the Victorian remodelling of a Georgian restoration.
