Castle Meadows

Wales is under a two-week ‘firebreak’ lockdown from 6pm on Friday 23 October until Monday 9th November. During this period we are unable to welcome visitors to the area, and certain businesses and venues, including visitor accommodation, bars, restaurants and non-essential shops will be closed.

This message will be updated at the end of the firebreak lockdown period to advise on any restrictions in place beyond the 9th November 2020.

Castle Meadows,
Castle Street,

In the centre of Abergavenny, easily accessible from the town centre. Some 20 hectares of riverside meadow, next to the River Usk, with bordering trees, small copses, streams and ponds. Beautiful views of the River Usk, the Blorenge and of Abergavenny Castle and town.

The meadows are managed traditionally, being left to grow through spring and early summer, before a hay crop is taken. Through the second half of the year cattle graze the meadows. Adjacent to the meadows are Linda Vista Gardens and Abergavenny Museum and Castle.
