Severn Bridges now toll-free

Great news for visitors to Monmouthshire, as it's been announced that the tolls for the Severn Bridges will be scrapped on December 17th 2018. From Monday 17th you'll be able to visit us over both the Severn Bridge and the Prince of Wales Bridge without paying a penny.

This is welcome news for residents and visitors and ends 50 years of tolls since the first Severn Bridge opened.

So, no more entrance fees for Monmouthshire and an extra £5.60 in your pocket.

The highlight of the Welsh racing calendar, The Coral Welsh Grand National is held on the 27th December, so perfect timing to take advantage of the toll removal.

80% of entry to CADW sites

Costing only £6.90 entry for adults, the £5.60 you'll save on the tolls will get you 80% of the way to entry to Raglan Castle, Chepstow Castle or Tintern Abbey.

Enjoy the theatre in Monmouth

Both the Savoy Theatre and the Blake Theatre in Monmouth have extensive Christmas offerings this time of year, and a full programme of shows throughout the year.

Enjoy tea & cake at a Monmouthshire cafe

Relax and put your money towards some cake and tea/coffee in one of Monmouthshire's many tea rooms and cafes. You could even treat yourself to Afternoon Tea.
