Llanthony Priory Hotel Exterior

There was success for three Monmouthshire businesses in the 2023 Good Hotel Guide as The Whitebrook, The Bell at Skenfrith and The Llanthony Priory Hotel all won Editor's Choice Awards.

The Bell at Skenfrith was in the list for 'Best Gastro-Pub', and was praised for their location ('delightfully at ease in the landscape'), food, 'comprehensive wine list' and quality of the staff ('a tonic and a credit to the owners').

The Whitebrook won as one of the 'Best Restaurants-with-rooms' and was lauded for head chef Chris Harrod's use of foraged food ('every plate he creates is a work of art'), the beauty of the location and the quality of the bedrooms ('a good night's sleep is assured').

Llanthony Priory Hotel won for being one of the best 'Hotels with a View', located as it is amongst the ruins of Llanthony Priory itself, within the picturesque Vale of Ewyas in the Black Mountains.

Congratulations to all the winners!

The Good Hotel Guide is published every October, and bills itself as the 'leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain'.
