Help promote Monmouthshire to the World! #loveMonmouthshire

Tag #loveMonmouthshire when sharing your favourite Monmouthshire moments on Twitter and Instagram and your posts could feature in an image gallery on the VisitMonmouthshire.com website and on social media galleries shown on screens across Monmouthshire attractions and at events.

The initiative harnesses the power of user-generated content and capitalises on the current trend in visual decision-making to drive tourism growth. Content posted on social media by people enjoying themselves in the area is more credible than anything we as a destination can create. The real Monmouthshire story is already being told by our community (visitors and residents), so by sharing this authentic visual content we are amplifying its reach and promoting the wide range of experiences on offer in the destination in a way that resonates with audiences.

Boost for businesses

We can also help increase the reach of businesses’ own posts by displaying them on the Visit Monmouthshire website and on screens at attractions across Monmouthshire. (see above)

The posts within our online galleries link to Google Places so if you have a tourism business and want us to share your posts please ensure your Google Places entry is up to date and correct.

This development helps ensure the destination website remains relevant to audiences so it continues to drive referrals to Monmouthshire businesses. In 2018, the website generated 34,199 referrals, an increase of 28% on the same period in 2017.

So tag #loveMonmouthshire when sharing your favourite Monmouthshire moments (and encourage your visitors to do this too) and help promote Monmouthshire to the World.
