About

Join Sarah Price Hiking & Artist Adrienne Cradock on Saturday 15th May 2027, starting at the atmospheric ruins of Llanthony Priory, we'll explore the surrounding Llanthony Valley on a relaxed, roughly 5 mile circular walk, taking time along the way to stop, look and create.

This is not a traditional guided walk or an art workshop in a hall. Instead, we're bringing the two together, using the landscape itself as our inspiration and classroom.

There will also be time to properly pause and enjoy the surroundings, with a relaxed lunchtime stop somewhere beautiful along the route. Bring your own packed lunch and drinks, find a comfortable spot, and enjoy a chance to sit, chat and take in the landscape before we continue our walk

Adrienne will introduce you to drawing and mixed-media techniques, helping you explore different ways of capturing what you see. We'll embrace the plein air tradition of creating outdoors, responding directly to the colours, shapes, textures and character of the surrounding landscape. And there is plenty here to inspire us.

Llanthony Valley is one of the most beautiful and atmospheric landscapes in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Surrounded by dramatic hills and open countryside, it is a place where history and landscape come together. The magnificent ruins of Llanthony Priory, the tiny whitewashed church at Capel y Ffin and the surrounding mountains all provide wonderful subjects to observe and interpret.

You don't need to be "an artist" to join us. Adrienne is an experienced and encouraging teacher and will guide you through the creative sessions whether you're a complete beginner or someone who already enjoys drawing and painting.

Srah will lead the walking at a comfortable, steady pace, sharing her knowledge of the landscape and making sure there are plenty of opportunities to stop and take it all in. Sarah's approach is supportive and inclusive, so the emphasis is on enjoying the day, not conquering the miles.

We'll finish with tea and brownies, taking time to sit together, look at what we've created and share our experiences of the day.

A chance to slow down and see the landscape differently.

With just 12 places available, this will be a small, relaxed group, giving everyone plenty of time to explore, create and spend time with Adrienne and Sarah.
