Explore Abergavenny

On the edge of the Brecon Beacons and the Valleys of south Wales, Abergavenny is a great base for walking, with hundreds of routes to explore; from a peaceful, family riverside stroll to a challenging walk up the Sugar Loaf Mountain. There is even a stunning 22 mile walk between Grosmont, Skenfrith and White Castles.

The area has a rich history that can be explored in the museum and castle, or by a visit to Goytre Wharf on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. And there are new stories to explore such as the White Castle Vineyard.

The area is filled with events - from carnivals, art and writing festivals through to the internationally renowned Abergavenny Food Festival held each September - the 2020 Festival has been cancelled. There are a host of top quality restaurants, as well as cafés and tearooms offering home cooked fare to those exploring the town. And if you decide to stay then we've everything from top class hotels and luxury canal narrowboats through to the ultimate, remote camp sites, where you can really relax and unwind.
