Details

Newport Transporter Bridge was 100 years old on September 12th 2006 and a special exhibition was held at Newport Museum & Art Gallery to mark the occasion.

From either Junction 24 or Junction 28 of the M4 take the A48. This is the new dual carriageway Southern Distributor Road which runs right past the Bridge.

Transporter Bridge location: west side, Usk Way (including visitor centre) - NP20 2JG, east side, Stephenson Street, NP19 0RB

By Car: Parking is normally easy in Stephenson Street on the East side of the river or there is a car park just off the A48 (follow the yellow signs).

Disabled parking is available adjacent to the Bridge and Visitor Centre, which has a disabled-friendly toilet. Parking is free at all these locations.

By Bus: The nearest bus service is Newport Transport No 5A / 5C from the City Centre or no 40 from bus station
