Art in Penallt 2022

Art in Penallt is a three day event, featuring local and international artists and makers.

Fine Art, Sculpture, Wood, Photography, Glass, Ceramics & Jewellery.

Art in Penallt organises an annual art exhibition of high quality, contemporary work in the village of Penallt, near Monmouth. The organising team are all local volunteers who have, since 2010, developed a close association with local schools, Made in Monmouthshire, and Creates Gallery. The purpose is to stimulate interest and enthusiasm amongst all age groups in the artistic process of creating a broad range of art and craft forms and to sell a wide variety of high-quality artwork with any profit donated to charity.

Artists, makers and visitors from far afield now recognise Art in Penallt which each year attracts new exhibitors and demonstrators as well as established favourites like our patrons, the potter Walter Keeler and the artist Richard Wills. Curator Ann Bradley and her team are hard at work from January onwards, developing each year’s fine art show. Selecting exhibitors from many applicants is never an easy task and to ensure that the show brings in exciting new artists, exhibitors are not normally selected for more than two consecutive years which can make for tough choices.

At the heart of Humble by Nature is a beautiful, old barn which houses the fine art exhibition while a range of stalls and demonstrations by artists and makers will be found around the site, this year all undercover.

Entrance £3.00 (U16s free).

There are facilities to take payments by debit and credit cards and all purchases may be taken away when paid for.

There is ample parking.

If you are travelling by bus, please click here for the 65 bus timetable (Saturday only).

The Pig & Apple restaurant is on site, serving refreshments throughout the weekend.

We are extremely grateful to have St. John Ambulance Cymru on site over the whole weekend. Their volunteers will be on hand to provide first aid should there be a need.
