Details
Mathern Palace, A grade 1 listed building located close to the severn estuary, is a building with a vast amount of historic stories associated to it. Between the years of 1408 and 1705 it was the main residence of the Bishops of Llandaff, and was later renovated and restored by Henry Avery Tipping, a french-born British writer on country houses and gardens - Holding the position of Architectural Editor of Country Life magazine for 17 years. Tipping used his creative flair and insight to redevelop the building, in particular the Gardens, which still hold the innovative and harmoneous feel to this very day.
At Mathern Palace, the rooms that are available offer nothing but the best in a historic experience, with each one in keeping with the period of the house. Offering luxury alongside practicality, each of the four available rooms can offer you a stay that you will never forget, whilst offering the more modern aspects of accomodation. With views of the beautiful village church, access to the garden gazebo room and use of the Billards room to relax and gather with friends, why not take a look at the Tewdic Room or the others on offer?
