Shielded from a rural country lane by fields, and reached by a secluded driveway, this holiday cottage has direct access to local footpaths, bridle ways and Offa's Dyke. Oakgrove offers an ideal location for a relaxing holiday in the peace of the countryside and as a base to explore the wealth of treasures around the area. Local attractions include ancient castles and abbeys, craft shops, caves, museums, vineyards, steam railway, birds of prey centre, cycle tracks, canoeing, and much more.
The cottage is detached from the main family house and benefits from its own private garden area and patio, with outdoor furniture. There is ample space for parking. The kitchen forms an integral part of the open-plan lounge/diner. There is a fridge, full size electric hob and microwave with convection oven and grill. The lobby is tiled and leads to the bathroom which has a shower, WC and washbasin. French windows in the lounge open onto a private patio to provide rural views. Alternatively there is a television and DVD player. Bedlinen is provided and towels can be hired on request. Electric heating throughout the cottage should ensure a comfortable holiday at any time of the year.

FROM THE SOUTH AND EAST
Take M4 and then M48 to Chepstow - over the old Severn Bridge - a Toll Road. Follow the Monmouth road (A466) for about 6 miles, through Tintern as far as a RIGHT turn into Brockweir, over the bridge.
Drive up the hill and take the first LEFT - Coldharbour Lane - and follow this for about 1 mile. At fork bear RIGHT continuing towards Coldharbour. Past the phone box we are the third driveway on the RIGHT - OAKGROVE is marked at the end of the driveway.
FROM THE NORTH
Take M5 and then M50 towards Ross and then Monmouth.
At Monmouth turn LEFT over bridge - (A466) towards Chepstow. After about 7 miles take LEFT turn to Brockweir, over the bridge and continue as above

Oakgrove Cottage, Brockweir Common, Chepstow, Monmouthshire Self-catering accommodation Access to the cottage is from a single track country lane (about 1 mile uphill from Brockweir village). The cottage is set back from the driveway on a mildly sloping garden. Luggage can be unloaded outside the cottage – on the driveway. Parking is 15 metres away. Public transport (bus stop) is on the main A466 about a mile or so away. Access to Oakgrove is via the front door which has 2 steps on the entrance. Alternatively access is possible from the patio door, involving a step into the lounge. The area around the cottage is grass, or flagstones outside the patio door, and is therefore unsuitable for a wheelchair or for parking vehicles. Inside the cottage, all accommodation is on one level. Door widths are standard. A tiled entrance hall leads to the tiled shower room. It has a hinge- opening shower cubicle, with a step to enter. The shower has flexible height adjustment. There are no handrails or seat. Toilet and washbasin are standard height. There is an extractor fan. To the right of the entrance is a double bedroom, carpeted. Non-feather pillows and duvet with polycotton bedlinen are provided. Under the bed is room for storage of the vacuum cleaner, relaxing loungers, and a clothes airer. There is a chest or drawers (with mirror) and wardrobe for clothes storage, a chair, a bedside table and the room benefits from a main window with two openings and one small feature window set high up. There is a central ceiling light and two wall-mounted lights above each side of the bed. To the left of the entrance is the open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area comprising: • Sitting area with small sofa and 1 single leather high backed chair. Remote control TV video and DVD. Central ceiling light and plug-in uplighter with detachable reading light. One large window with two openings. Access to the garden via large patio door (one step from sitting room, where there is a plastic patio table and chair. • Dining area with circular drop-leaf table and two dining chairs. • Galley-style kitchen with standard height worktops and round sink. It has an under work-surface fridge with ice compartment, a four ringed electric hob, carousel storage unit, and two cupboards for pots & pans and storage. Above work-top level there are two high cupboards with crockery, glasses etc. A combination microwave/convection oven/grill sits on a shelf at the same height as the wall units. A strip light under the unit provides additional lighting, and there is an extractor fan. Tea towels, dish cloth and washing up liquid are provided. • Light switches and power points are 140cm high. There are security lights for access to the cottage and electric panel heating is provided in all rooms.
