Poults are bought in as day olds and are reared on wood shavings and under gas brooders.We grow our own wheat and barley on the farm to feed the turkeys, and this is littered daily with the straw.
Christmas time is busy so extra hands are brought in to help with feathering. The turkeys are traditionally hung 7-10 days which enhances their flavour.
In 1995 we won the ‘Quality Turkey Award’ for producing turkeys which reached the highest standards of quality and culinary excellence, and achieved the distinction of ‘Outstanding’.
