Capel-y-ffin Monastery; self-catering accomodation high up in the beautiful Llanthony Valley. Set in a peaceful location in the Black Mountains and within the Brecon Beacons National Park - an easily accessible part of Wales. The market town of Abergavenny is 14 miles away and Hay-On-Wye, famous for second hand books and literary festival, is 8 miles over the dramatic Gospel Pass.

Local Inns offer good food and the ruins of 12th Century Llanthony Abbey are 3½ miles down the valley with its unique Cellar Bar.

Situated close to the Offa’s Dyke footpath and just off National Cycle Route 42. This is perfect countryside for walking, cycling or just relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. Direct access to the mountains from the Monastery, Pony Trekking is available at Capel-Y-Ffin and Llanthony and caters for all abilities. Canoeing is available on the River Wye.
