On Saturday 1st Sept at 2.30pm, Owain Gibby, a Japanese gardening enthusiast, will be giving a talk about, and answering your questions on, “von Siebold in Japan”. Philipp Franz von Siebold, the German physician, botanist, and traveller, brought living plants from Japan to Europe and introduced many ornamental Japanese plants here, many of which are now well known.

The Monmouthshire group of the Hardy Plant Society (HPS) meets in Usk as it is centrally located. Usk Centenary Hall (NP15 1AD) is at the rear of the Memorial Hall car park, opposite the prison, with free parking.
