Mr H Legge-Bourke

The Estate Office,
Glanusk Estate,

The Estate, a CADW heritage listed site, has been in existence for 200 years and has 400 acres of private parkland and beautiful buildings which allows an enormous variety of uses. These include a private church for weddings, festivals, corporate events, fishing, film/tv, commercial, exclusive and unique holiday cottages and bespoke events. Events that have taken place include The Green Man Festival, CLA Game Fair, major film and tv productions, opera, outdoor theatre productions, Fun Rides, Endurance Races, agricultural shows and bespoke parties. The Estate lends itself to diverse requirements from clients.

Accommodation is available in Glanusk Lodge, Garden Cottage, Guards Apartment and the newly renovated castellated Glanusk Tower as well as Glanusk Caravan Park which has pitches for caravans, motorhomes, touring vehicles and camping.

The Gardens and Oak Collection, which has some 300 cultivars of Oak including the Royal Oak Collection, are open during June, July, September and October. Visiting members of the Royal family as far back as 1800s have planted Oaks the latest being HRH The Prince of Wales in July 2019 using the same spade as HM The Queen used in July 2012. Each Oak has a story to it.

The Estate has 5 miles of private river (as featured in episode 1 of the current series of Mortimer & Whitehouse : Gone Fishing) offering the visiting angler wonderful opportunities for both Brown Trout and Atlantic Salmon. Glanusk offers exclusive fishing breaks and has a resident ghillie who is on hand should you require guidance or instruction.

Derived from the Welsh name "Afon Wysg" (literally meaning "river abounding in fish"), the Usk starts in Mid Wales, initially flowing in an easterly direction to the north of the picturesque Brecon Beacons, before taking a more southerly course to join the Bristol Channel at Newport.

Glanusk Park and Estate is privately owned by the Legge-Bourke family. It is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Usk Valley, Crickhowell, South Wales in the Brecon Beacons National Park and is one of the largest privately-owned estates in Wales.
