About

Path temporarily closed due to major problems with the route

A 5 mile walk with lots of ups, downs and spectacular views from Mitchel Troy, west of Monmouth.

This is a long walk with some steep gradients. On leaving Mitchel Troy it’s uphill all the way on the hillside overlooking Mitchel Troy Common. At the top you drop down towards Cwmcarvan Church – although it’s uphill again to get there. The return is much the same, climbing back up the hill above Mitchel Troy but this time it’s down the other side of the valley and back to the church.

You are rewarded for your efforts with some of the most magnificent views in the area, stretching east towards the Wye Valley and west towards the Sugar Loaf and Black Mountains.
